Gay Marriage Is Good for America

Gay marriage in America has only recently become legalised in California. This decission took effect on June 16, 2008. California is the second U.S State, after Massachusetts to make marriage licenses available to same-sex couples.
They have already began to marrying same sex couples this week. The first to be wed in San Francisco were Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, pioneering gay-rights activists who have been a couple for more than 50 years.

For some homosexuals in some countries, it seems that love separates them from marriage instead of connecting them with it. This is because they are forbidden to marry thier same sex partner.

One really good thing about them legalising same sex marriages in California meant that big time celebrities Ellen DeGenres and Portia de Rossi have announced they will be getting married. This will be huge publicity for all homosexuals and will hopefully show the rest of America and the world how to accept gay marriage.

Yes I think that legalizing same sex marriages in California was a good idea, I see that these people have the same right as any other couple to be married. That couple in the article had been together 50 years, so it shows that their relationships can work even if they are of the same sex, so I don’t understand why they didn’t have the right to get married until now??
I really hope that other states and countries do follow California and legalize same sex marriages; it might finally get these other countries to realize how sick and twisted they really are.
